What to Expect at ALTR Performance

With Dr. Andrew Bagley, PT, DPT, ATC - Owner, Physical Therapist

This video walks you through what working with us actually looks like — the call, the assessment, the plan, and the ongoing support.

The short version: you get a real functional assessment, not a five-minute screen. Objective data on your strength, mobility, and movement quality — the same standard used to keep Division I athletes healthy.

From there we build a program around what we actually found, you run it on your own time at your own gym, and you check in with your doctor of physical therapy monthly to adjust it. Direct access in between.

And if the assessment turns up something that needs hands-on care, you'll hear that from us, too, and we'll come up with a plan together.

Most people don't need more exercises. They need better answers.

You're not in pain. Good — the goal is to keep it that way. But mornings feel stiffer than they used to, workouts take more out of you than they should, and there's probably an old injury in the back of your mind you're half-expecting to flare up again.

So you've been guessing. Stretching, mobility work, whatever came across your phone that week, hoping it's the right thing with no way to know whether it is.

There's no appointment for "I'm fine, but I don't think I'm actually fine." That's what this is.

Your bloodwork gets checked every year. Nobody ever checks how you move — until something hurts.

This program is built for you if…

  • You're active and intend to stay that way, and you'd rather not find out the hard way what's about to give
  • There's an old injury you've been quietly working around and half-expecting to flare
  • Mornings are stiffer than they used to be and recovery is slower than it was five years ago
  • You've never really trained and want someone to show you how to start without getting hurt
  • You want a professional in your corner for whatever comes up, instead of starting from scratch with a stranger every time something hurts

How It Works

The Functional Health Assessment

One hour of full-body testing. Strength, mobility, and movement quality, scored with objective numbers and age-matched against your peers. Not a five-minute screen, and not a subjective "looks fine to me." You see the data, and for most people it finally explains something they've been feeling for a year without being able to name.

A Program Built Around What We Found

Not a template with your name on it. Your program is written against the specific weaknesses, imbalances, and restrictions the assessment turned up, and it's designed to run on your own time at your own gym. You're not buying access to a facility. You're buying the plan and the clinician behind it.

A Doctor of Physical Therapy On Call

Monthly check-ins to adjust the program as your body changes, plus direct access to your PT in between. When something tweaks, you message the person who already knows your history — you don't wait three weeks for an appointment to get a referral for something we could have handled that afternoon. South Carolina allows direct access to physical therapy, which means we can be the first call instead of the third.

This isn't personal training and it isn't a gym membership. It's a physical wellness program built for your body by a Doctor of Physical Therapy — and if the assessment turns up something that needs hands-on care, we'll tell you and put a real treatment plan together.

Frequently Asked Questions

We hear these often, so here are a few answers you may be looking for!

Schedule a Call Today
  • I'm not in pain. Is this really for me?

That's exactly who it's for. Everything we test — strength, mobility, movement quality — is far easier to change before it becomes a problem. Waiting until something hurts means it costs more time and more money to fix.

  • How is this different from a personal trainer?

A trainer writes you a workout. This starts with an hour of objective testing by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, so the program is built around measured findings rather than a general template. And if the testing turns up something clinical, you're already sitting with the person licensed to treat it.

  • Do I have to train at your facility?

No. The program is built to run on your own time at your own gym. You come in for the assessment and your monthly check-in, and you have direct access to your PT in between.
